Roller Coasters :

1 - A roller coaster is an amusement ride developed for amusement and theme parks. In essence it is a specialized railroad system that consists of a track that rises in designed patterns, sometimes with inversions that briefly turn the rider upside down. The track does not necessarily have to be a complete circuit. Most roller coasters have multiple cars in which passengers sit (or hang) and are restrained.

2 - "Russian Mountains" were specially-constructed hills of ice, located in an area that would later become St. Petersburg and are the forerunners of roller coasters. Some historians say the first roller coaster was built under the orders of Russia's Catherine the Great in the Gardens of Oranienbaum in Saint Petersburg in the year 1784. Other historians believe that the first modern roller coaster was built by the French (since they also had Tivoli Garden first :)). The Scenic Railway at Luna Park, Melbourne, is the world's oldest continually-operating roller coaster, built in 1912.

3 - Modern roller coasters are constantly evolving to provide a variety of different experiences. Traditionally, riders sit facing forward, but newer variations such as stand-up and flying models position the rider in different ways. A flying model is a suspended roller coaster where the riders lie facing forward and down with their chests and feet strapped in. Other ways of enhancing the experience involve removing the floor beneath passengers riding above the track, as featured in floorless roller coasters (such as Dæmonen).

Top 3 Cheeses :

1 - Swiss cheese is a generic name in North America for several related varieties of cheese, mainly of North American manufacture, which resemble Emmental cheese, a yellow, medium-hard cheese that originated in the area around Emmental, in Switzerland. Some types of Swiss cheese have a distinctive appearance, as the blocks of the cheese are riddled with holes known as "eyes". Swiss cheese without eyes is known as "blind".

2 - Cheddar cheese is a relatively hard, off-white (or orange if spices such as annatto are added), sometimes "sharp" (i.e., acidic)-tasting, natural cheese. Originating in the British village of Cheddar in Somerset, cheeses of this style are produced beyond this region and in several countries around the world.

3 - Feta is a brined curd white cheese made in Greece from sheep's milk, or from a mixture of sheep and goat's milk. Similar brined white cheeses produced outside the European Union are often made partly or wholly of cow's milk, and they are also sometimes called feta. It is a crumbly aged cheese, commonly produced in blocks, and has a slightly grainy texture. Feta is used as a table cheese, as well as in salads

The phases of the Moon :

1 - A lunar phase is the shape of the illuminated (sunlit) portion of the Moon as seen by an observer on Earth. Lunar phases change cyclically as the Moon orbits the Earth, according to the changing positions of the Moon and Sun relative to the Earth. The portion of the hemisphere facing Earth that is visible to an observer on Earth can vary from about 100% (full moon) to 0% (new moon). The descriptor "waxing" is used for an intermediate phase when the Moon's apparent size is increasing, from new moon toward full moon, and "waning" when the size is decreasing. In Western culture, the four principal lunar phases are new moon, first quarter, full moon, and third quarter (also known as last quarter). During the intervals between principal phases, the Moon appears crescent-shaped or gibbous. These shapes, and the periods of time when the Moon shows them, are called the intermediate phases. Each of the intermediate lunar phases is about 7.4 days. Non-western cultures may use a different number of Moon phases, for example traditional Hawaiian culture has a total of 30 different Moon phases.

2 - Observers in tropical latitudes see the Moon apparently horizontal during the morning and evening. The crescent Moon can open upward or downward, with the "horns" of the crescent pointing up or down, respectively. When the Sun appears above the Moon in the sky, the crescent opens downward; when the Moon is above the Sun, the crescent opens upward. The crescent Moon is most clearly and brightly visible when the Sun is below the horizon, which implies that the Moon must be above the Sun, and the crescent must open upward. This is therefore the orientation in which the crescent Moon is most often seen from the Earth's tropics.

3 -The crescent is one of the oldest symbols known to humanity. Together with the sun, it appeared on Akkadian seals as early as 2300 BC and from at least the second millennium BC it was the symbol of the Mesopotamian Moon gods Nanna in Sumer and Sin in Babylonia, Sin being the "Lamp of Heaven and Earth". The crescent was well known in the Middle East and was transplanted by the Phoenicians in the 8th century BC as far as Carthage (now in Tunisia). The crescent and star also appears on pre-Islamic coins of South Arabia.

Solar eclipse :

1 - As seen from the Earth, a solar eclipse is a type of eclipse that occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, and the Moon fully or partially blocks the Sun.

2 - This can happen only at new moon, when the Sun and the Moon are in conjunction as seen from Earth in an alignment referred to as syzygy

3 - In a total eclipse, the disk of the Sun is fully obscured by the Moon. In partial and annular eclipses, only part of the Sun is obscured.

Bicycles :

1 - A bicycle is a human-powered, pedal-driven, single-track vehicle, having two wheels attached to a frame, one behind the other. Bicycles were introduced in the 19th century in Europe and as of 2003, more than 1 billion have been produced worldwide, twice as many as the number of automobiles. They are the principal means of transportation in many regions. They also provide a popular form of recreation, and have been adapted for use as chjldren's toys, general fitness, military and police applications, courier services, and bicycle racing.

2 - The bicycle's invention has had an enormous effect on society, both in terms of culture and of advancing modern industrial methods. Several components that eventually played a key role in the development of the automobile were initially invented for use in the bicycle, including ball bearings, pneumatic tires, chain-driven sprockets, and tension-spoked wheels. Many details have been improved, especially since the advent of modern materials and computer-aided design. These have allowed for a proliferation of specialized designs for many types of cycling.

3 - Katie Melua has claimed "There are nine million bicycles in Beijing / That's a fact, / It's a thing we can't deny / Like the fact that I will love you till I die." However, since she also stated "We are twelve billion light years from the edge, / That's a guess, / No-one can ever say it's true / But I know that I will always be with you.", which yielded strong objections and (uncalled-for) discussions in the scientific community, it is safe to assume that the first number is incorrect, too.

1 - Miss America is a scholarship pageant that is held annually and is open to women from the United States between the ages of 17 and 24

2 - Originating in 1921, the contest is now judged on competitors' talent performances and interviews in addition to their physical appearance. It is run by the Miss America Organization, a not-for-profit corporation based in Linwood, New Jersey, which has developed the "Miss America Scholarship Program", which awards educational scholarships to successful competitors.

3 - Miss America travels about 20,000 miles a month, changing her location every 24 to 48 hours, touring the nation and promoting her particular platform of interest.

How to select the BEST Plushy :

1 - Make a selection of up to a dozen candidates. Feel their fur. How are they dressed and present themselves? Keep the six that don't embarrass you.

2 - Look them deep into their eyes. Keep the three that make you weak in the knees ... and don't have bad breath.

3 - With those last three ... ask them how they would change the world. Well, at least YOUR world. And if their answers are too good and too similar ... keep them all.

Poetry :

1 - Poetry is a form of literature that uses aesthetic and rhythmic qualities of language—such as phonaesthetics, sound symbolism, and metre—to evoke meanings in addition to, or in place of, the prosaic ostensible meaning.

2 - Poetry has a long history, dating back to the Sumerian Epic of Gilgamesh. Early poems evolved from folk songs such as the Chinese Shijing, or from a need to retell oral epics, as with the Sanskrit Vedas, Zoroastrian Gathas, and the Homeric epics, the Iliad and the Odyssey. Ancient attempts to define poetry, such as Aristotle's Poetics, focused on the uses of speech in rhetoric, drama, song and comedy.

3 - Much modern poetry reflects a critique of poetic tradition, playing with and testing, among other things, the principle of euphony itself, sometimes altogether forgoing rhyme or set rhythm.

How tell a Circus Story :

1 - Start with a joke! "Half of the people were much smaller than me ... and the other half was much taller than me." Say that you clapped louder and laughed harder than anybody else during the show. Don't forget to mention you had candy floss, almost bought a plushy and gave a circus review to a neighbor (they have two kjds!).

2 - Try to capture the atmosphere of an audience in amazement and joy, be it over the air acrobatics (Lady in a fish net, Pirates on a rope) or the Strongest man in the World being rolled over by a SUV and shot at by a canon ball, the clown sketches (karaoke, audience orchestra with bubble wrap) or the "dialogues" of the circus director with Leonard the Lion, the mascot who would eat all the visitors had he only enough potatos and ketchup at hand.
Try to hide your disappointment over missing animals.

3 - Leave the best parts for the end ... The opening scene, where the clown pulled on an invisible string to fill the tent with light and applause, but a mean man came and reversed the effect. Then the clown pulled at it again and collected the applause and put it into his heart. The mean man pulled at the string so severely that it broke :(. But the clown still had the laughter and applause concealed in his heart and on bringing this back the show started :).
Another very poetic act was a couple, he an acrobat, she a violing player. Two beautiful, funny and exeptional scenes. (Also seen on y0utube, but very poor quality.)

Sleep :

1 - Select an area for rest . Decrease clutter and sounds . Prepare it to be a darkened area with a place to lie down .

2 - Sleep is a naturally recurring state of mind characterized by altered consciousness, relatively inhibited sensory activity, inhibition of nearly all voluntary muscles, and reduced interactions with surroundings

3 - Mammalian sleep occurs in repeating periods, in which the body alternates between two highly distinct modes known as non-REM and REM sleep. REM stands for "rapid eye movement" but involves many other aspects including virtual paralysis of the body.

Introduction to Danish rhymes:

1 - The first printed book in Danish dated 1495 is the "Rimkrøniken" (Rhyming Chronicle), a history book told in rhymed verses. The first complete translation of the Bible in Danish was published in 1550. The modern Danish alphabet is similar to the English one, with three additional letters: æ, ø, and å (=aa in ancient Danish), which come at the end of the alphabet, in that order. Danish language has a very large vowel inventory comprising 27 phonemically distinctive vowels (I've learned 14?!?! LOL), which makes rhyming and translation of rhymes - trying to conserve rythm, rhyme and meaning - a complex and tedious task at best.

2 - *Hans Christian Andersen's "Det gamle Træ, o lad det staa", 1851:

Det gamle Træ, o lad det staa
Indtil det døer af Ælde;
Saamange Ting det husker paa.
Hvad kan det ikke melde.

That ancient tree, don't let it fall
Until old age is knelling;
So many things it can recall
What tales it could be telling.

3 - *Jeppe Aakjær's "Maynat" (May Night), 1916:

Saa ensomt bræger det spæde Lam
paa Bakken langt i det fjærne,
og Frøerne kvækker fra Pyt og Dam,
som sang det fra Stjærne til Stjærne.

The lonely young lamb on the hill beyond
can be heard with its plaintive small baa,
and the frogs all croak from puddle and pond,
as if star now were singing to star.

Sailing :

1 - Chose a Sailing tour if the 1st time .
Sailing comprises wind propulsion of a craft by means of sails and steering it over water, ice or land, depending on the type of craft.

2 - A sailor manages the force of the wind on the sails by adjusting their angle with respect to the moving sailing craft and sometimes by adjusting the sail area.

3 - The force transmitted from the sails is resisted by forces from the hull, keel, and rudder of a sailing craft, by forces from skate runners for an iceboat, and by forces from wheels for a land sailing craft to allow steering a course on a point of sail with respect to the true wind.

Fruit Drinks :

1 - Juice is a liquid (drink) that is naturally contained in fruit and vegetables. It is commonly consumed as a beverage or used as an ingredient or flavoring in foods or other beverages. Juice emerged as a popular beverage choice after the development of pasteurization methods allowed for its preservation without fermentation. Groups of gr@pe pits dated to 8000 BCE show early evidence of juice production; although it is thought that they may have been alternatively used to produce wine.

2 - Juices are often consumed for their perceived health benefits. For example, orange juice is rich in vitamin C, folic acid, and potassium. Prune juice is associated with a digestive health benefit. Cranberry juice has long been known to help prevent or even treat bladder infections.

3 - A smoothie is a thick beverage made from blended raw fruit and/or vegetables, with other ingredients such as water, ice, dairy products or sweeteners. A smoothie containing dairy products is similar to a fruit milkshake, though the latter typically contains less fruit and often contains ice cream.

Superhero comics :

1 - Superhero comics are the most common genre of American comic books. The genre rose to prominence in the 1930s and 1940s and has remained the dominant form of comic book in North America since the 1960s. Superhero comics feature stories about superheroes and the universes these characters inhabit.

2 - Beginning with the introduction of Superman in 1938 in Action Comics #1 — an anthology of adventure features — comic books devoted to superheroes (heroic people with extraordinary or superhuman abilities and skills, or god-like powers and attributes) ballooned into a widespread genre, coincident with the beginnings of World War II and the end of The Great Depression.

3 - Movies of Comic book Superheroes have been very successful with some making over 1/2 Billion dollars !

3 Artists/Bands that I like most :

1 - Chris de Burgh: The British-Irish singer-songwriter and instrumentalist is an art rock performer who also writes pop-oriented material. He is most famous for his 1986 love song "The Lady in Red", which reached number one in several countries. De Burgh has sold over 45 million albums worldwide. Having been born as Christopher John Davison on 15 October 1948, I believe he is my musical soul mate :).

2 - Chris Isaak: The American rock musician and occasional actor is renowned for his signature 1950s rock & roll style and crooner sound, as well as his soaring falsetto and reverb-laden music. His songs generally focus on the themes of love, loss and heartbreak. He has been called the Roy Orbison of the 1990s, and is also often compared to Elvis Presley, Ricky Nelson and Duane Eddy.

3 - Simon Curtis: The American actor, singer-songwriter, author and record producer gained recognition for his role in the 2009 film Spectacular! before venturing into pop music. He released several alubms free of charge since record labels didn't want to sign him (openly gay, explicit song texts ...). He is now part of the electropop duo called Wrathsch1ld.

Artificial intelligence :

1 - Artificial intelligence (AI) is the intelligence exhibited by machines. In computer science, an ideal "intelligent" machine is a flexible rational agent that perceives its environment and takes actions that maximize its chance of success at an arbitrary goal

2 - Colloquially, the term "artificial intelligence" is likely to be applied when a machine uses cutting-edge techniques to competently perform or mimic "cognitive" functions that we intuitively associate with human minds, such as "learning" and "problem solving".

3 - Modern examples of AI include computers that can beat professional players at Chess and Go, and self-driving cars that navigate crowded city streets.

3 Places that would be nice to visit in Australia :

1 - Great Barrier Reef: The world's largest coral reef system, composed of over 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands, is located in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland, Australia. It can be seen from outer space and is the world's biggest single structure made by living organisms. It supports a wide diversity of life and was selected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981. CNN labelled it one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The Great Barrier Reef is an important part of local groups' cultures and spirituality. In November 2014, Google launched Google Underwater Street View in 3D of the Great Barrier Reef.

2 - Urulu mountains and the Outback*: The Outback is the vast, remote, arid interior of Australia and is full of very important well-adapted wildlife. There are many popular tourist attractions in the outback. One of them is Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock, a large sandstone rock formation in the southern part of the Northern Territory in central Australia. It lies 450 km (280 mi) by road to the south west of the nearest large town, Alice Springs. Uluru is sacred to the Anangu, the Aboriginal people of the area. The area around the formation is home to an abundance of springs, waterholes, rock caves, and ancient paintings. Uluru is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

3 - Brisbane: The capital and most populous city in Queensland, the third most populous city in Australia and one of the oldest cities in Australia is known for its distinct Queenslander architecture which forms much of the city's built heritage. It also receives attention for its damaging flood events, most notably in 1974 and 2011. The city is a popular tourist destination, serving as a gateway for visitors to the state of Queensland, particularly to the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast, popular resort towns immediately south and north of Brisbane, respectively. Several large cultural, international and sporting events have been held.

Canada :

1 - •Canada is the second largest country in the world.

2 - •About 90% of Canada’s population is concentrated within 160 kilometers (100 miles) of the Canada/US border.

3 - •The first chuckwagon race held at the Calgary Stampede occurred in 1923. Purses and prizes totaled $275. To get the Canadian Championship title each outfit – consisting of four horses, wagon, driver and four helpers – were required to cut a figure eight around barrels, head out through a backstretch, then around a track, unhook the horses from the wagon, stretch a fly with a minimum of two stakes and make a fire. My 3 favorite Operas :

1 - Eugene Onegin composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, 3 acts (7 scenes). The libretto very closely follows certain passages in Alexander Pushkin's novel in verse, retaining much of his poetry. It is an example of lyric opera, to which Tchaikovsky added music of a dramatic nature. The story concerns a selfish hero who lives to regret his blasé rejection of a young woman's love and his careless incitement of a fatal duel with his best friend. The opera was first performed in Moscow in 1879.

2 - Don Giovanni is an opera in two acts with music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Italian libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte. It is based on the legends of Don Juan, a fictional libertine and seducer. It was premiered by the Prague Italian opera at the Teatro di Praga in 1787. Although sometimes classified as comic, it blends comedy, melodrama and supernatural elements. A staple of the standard operatic repertoire, Don Giovanni is currently tenth on the Operabase list of the most-performed operas worldwide.

3 - The Barber of Seville is an opera buffa in two acts by Gioachino Rossini with an Italian libretto by Cesare Sterbini. The libretto was based on Pierre Beaumarchais's French comedy Le Barbier de Séville (1775). The première of Rossini's opera took place in 1816 in Rome. Rossini's Barber has proven to be one of the greatest masterpieces of comedy within music, and has been described as the opera buffa of all "opere buffe". Even after two hundred years, it remains a popular work.
